Caretaker Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar has ordered the restoration of Panjara Bridge in Balochistan as soon as possible in response to an impassioned appeal by a local singer.
The bridge was washed away in July this year in a flash flood caused by monsoon rains.
“Orders have been issued to concerned agencies for reconstruction of Panjara bridge,” the caretaker prime minister wrote on his official X-handle on Friday.
The Prime Minister assured that the long-standing problem of the people of Balochistan will be solved very soon.

The prime minister’s directive came after singer Gul Mir Jamali took a novel approach to request the prime minister to repair the bridge.
In a song, which went viral on social media, Jamali urged the prime minister, who also hails from Balochistan’s Qila Saifullah district, to “fulfill your responsibility towards Balochistan”.
Heavy rains swept away the famous Panjara Bridge in Bolan, Balochistan, 115 km southeast of Quetta.
The Panara Bridge was used to cross the Bolan River on the Quetta-Sukkur Highway.
The bridge was temporarily restored after flooding last year and Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif visited the site to congratulate the construction crew.
In April this year, the temporary bridge was washed away in continuous rains, which has not yet been repaired, as a result of which the water level in the Bolan River rose after the rains, leaving passengers stranded in the Bolan for hours.
