PML-N and PPP face to face over administrative issues in Punjab

LAHORE: Differences emerged between the ruling coalition parties – Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) over administrative matters in Punjab.

Sources told JEE News on Thursday that the leaders of the People’s Party had complained to the party chairman and foreign minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari that the caretaker government of Punjab was not paying attention to their requests regarding administrative matters in the province.

People’s Party members expressed their concerns with Bilawal regarding the interim government of Punjab and said that the authorities in the province are not considering their requests. Insiders added that Punjab officials made “hundreds of excuses” whenever they were asked.

According to sources, PPP members said that they could not even do patch work on the road, transfer a Station House Officer (SHO) to the province.

On the other hand, he said that the bureaucracy of Punjab has promptly resolved the requests of the PMLN leaders. Further, he said that a former principal secretary to the prime minister is now secretary to caretaker Punjab chief minister Mohsin Naqvi “who does not solve our problems”. He further said that the banners put up to welcome Zardari were also removed by the provincial authorities. Meanwhile, Caretaker Chief Minister of Punjab Naqvi has suddenly left for Dubai according to sources and is likely to meet Zardari, who is there. Available for eye surgery.
