ISLAMABAD: The prices of petroleum products will remain unchanged till June 30, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar announced in a televised statement on Thursday.
According to the minister, during the last two rounds, the prices of petroleum products were reduced significantly, high speed diesel and petrol prices saw a reduction of Rs 35 and Rs 20 respectively.
The federal minister explained that although there was a slight increase in the prices of petroleum products in the international market from June 1 to June 15, the government had decided to maintain the current prices.
The ex-depot prices of POL products will remain unchanged, with petrol at Rs 262 per litre, HSD at Rs 253 per litre, kerosene at Rs 164.07 per liter and LDO at Rs 147.68 per litre.
Pakistan State Oil (PSO) estimates a change of Rs 3.50 per liter for petrol and Rs 0.31 per liter for diesel.
The government currently imposes an Inland Freight Equalization Margin (IFEM) of Rs 4.04 per liter on petrol and Rs 3.79 per liter on diesel. Additionally, the petroleum levy on both petrol and diesel (HSD) is Rs 50 per litre. Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) have a fixed margin of Rs 6 per liter on petrol (92 RON) and Rs 5 per liter on HSD. Additionally, fixed dealer commission for petrol and HSD has been fixed at Rs 7 per litre.
