Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has thanked China for its generous assistance to Pakistan’s flood-affected people.
In a tweet on Sunday, the Prime Minister said that our Chinese friends are continuing to help the flood victims in Pakistan. He said that the total amount of aid has increased from 400 million to 644 million Chinese yuan.

Earlier, China’s Ambassador to Pakistan Nong Rong said that the aid amount has been increased to 644 million RMB (about 90 million US dollars).

The envoy noted that the aid comes from the Chinese government, the Communist Party of China, the Chinese Army, the Red Cross. Society of China and sister provinces and cities, Chinese enterprises and individuals.

Meanwhile, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Wang Wenbin responded to the US Secretary of State’s statement and said that Pakistan should demand a loan suspension from China.
The Chinese government has provided humanitarian aid worth RMB 400 million, and Chinese civil society has also lent a helping hand, the spokesman said.
“There has been fruitful economic and financial cooperation between China and Pakistan.
