Prominent Religious scholar Mufti Muhammad Rafi Usmani passed away in Karachi.

Mufti-e-Azam Pakistan Mufti Muhammad Rafi Usmani passed away at Darul Uloom in Karachi on Friday night.

Mufti Rafi Usmani, the elder brother of renowned religious scholar Mufti Taqi Usmani, was 86 years old.

Before his death, Alam Deen served as President of Darul Uloom Karachi and Vice President of Al-Madaris Al Arabiya Pakistan.

He played an important role in various religious movements such as Movement of End of Prophethood.

Mufti Rafi Usmani, who had a strong command over religious orders, also served as an advisor to the Supreme Court of Pakistan.

In addition, he served as a member of the Syndicate at the University of Karachi and Dow University and as a member of the Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) and the Rawit Hilal Committee of Pakistan.

Mufti Rafi Usmani was born on 21 July 1936 in Uttar Pradesh (UP), India.

His father, Mufti Azam Muhammad Shafi Usmani, was a prominent Muslim leader in British India and closely associated with the independence movement.

After partition, Mufti Rafi Usmani migrated to Pakistan at the age of 12.

Settling in a new country considered the homeland of Muslims, he began his religious studies the following year in 1948.

During his illustrious life, he authored several religious books such as Dars Muslim, Farkhabandi Haram, Ikhlas-ur-Rhamt, and many others.
