ISLAMABAD: The disqualification of PTI leader Imran Khan from holding public offices by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has sent the country into a frenzy as disgruntled PTI workers hit the streets against the decision. But has started to emerge, which is seen as a major political setback for the party.
After the verdict was announced, chaotic scenes were witnessed outside the ECP office where angry PTI workers gathered in large numbers and raised slogans against the government.
According to police sources, the district administrator has blocked three major arteries leading to Islamabad to avoid any untoward incident.
The Islamabad Traffic Police has advised commuters to use Peshawar Road or Lahtrar Road as Chongi No. 26 and Athal Chowk in Bihara Kahu have been closed for all traffic due to the protests.
