Karachi Kings defeated Multan Sultans by 66 runs in the 14th match of the eighth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) at the National Bank Cricket Arena in Karachi on Sunday as Sultans failed to chase down the target of 168 runs. .
Batting first, Kings set a competitive target of 168 before bowling out Sultans for 101 in 16.3 overs, thanks to a half-century from Tayyab Tahir and exceptional spin bowling from Tabriz Shamsi, Shoaib Malik and Imad Wasim. Thanks to the demonstration. .

The next batsman was David Miller, who was sent back by his compatriot Tabriz Shamsi for seven runs.
Veteran all-rounder Malik struck again in his third over as he sent Sultans skipper Muhammad Rizwan (29) back to the pavilion. The wicketkeeper batsman tried to play a sweep shot on the leg side but the ball hit the edge and the rest was done by debutant Tayyab Tahir who took a sensational catch.

The South African spinner claimed his third wicket by dismissing Usama Mir after he scored 10 runs.

The left-arm spinner dismissed Akil Hussain (2) in the same over. The left-hander chose to hit a six but was caught by Ben Cutting.
Anwar Ali, who scored 12 runs off 12 balls, was the ninth batsman to fall. Akif was dismissed by the right-handed batsman.

Malik ended Sultans’ innings by trapping Abbas Afridi LBW.
On behalf of Kings, Malik and Shamsi took three wickets each while Akif and Imad took two wickets each.
Earlier, Karachi Kings scored 167 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.
During the first innings, at one stage it looked like Kings would put a big total on the board but Sultan’s bowlers came back into the contest by bowling very well in the death overs.
Opener James Vince departed after a brief cameo, scoring 27 off 12 balls as Anwar Ali sent the England man back.
However, Matthew Wade and Tayyab Tahir put on a brilliant partnership of 109 runs off 83 balls for the second wicket.
Tahir was caught in front of the stumps by the leading wicket-taker of the tournament, Ehsanullah, but before that the former had scored 65 off 46 balls. The right-hander’s confident innings included eight fours and a six.

Meanwhile Wade, who scored 46 off 47 balls and was struggling to get going, was clean out by Ehsanullah trying to play a lap shot.
Captain Imad Wasim faced only six balls but made full use of them to score 14 runs with the help of a four and a six.
Ehsanullah was the best bowler for Sultans with figures of 2-22 in four overs.
