In a major blow to Multan Sultans, fast bowler Shahnawaz Durman has been ruled out of the remaining matches of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 8 and has been replaced by fast bowler Mohammad Ilyas.
The pledge was ruled out due to a fractured index finger.
The franchise spokesperson confirmed that the young fast bowler had injured his finger during the match against Lahore Qalandars.
The 24-year-old fast bowler has been a constant feature of the Multan team and has taken 55 wickets in 41 T20 matches during his career.
Sources say that Sultans may replace the pacer with West Indies all-rounder Carlos Brathwaite, but the franchise has preferred Elias over the West Indies all-rounder.
Last year’s runners-up Multan Sultans begin their campaign against Lahore Qalandars on February 13.
In the opening match of the tournament in Multan, under the leadership of Muhammad Rizwan, Sultans fell by just one run.
