ISLAMABAD: Information and Broadcasting Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb on Wednesday said that her own people of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) have exposed the Panama conspiracy.
Addressing a press conference here, he said that the characters behind this conspiracy pushed the country to many crises by imposing an incompetent and incompetent person at the helm of affairs.
Marriyum said Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) leader Nawaz Sharif was disqualified under a conspiracy when the “Panama verdict was converted into Iqama”.
During the press conference, he played a video clip of senior PTI leader Hamid Khan telling a private TV channel that it seems Nawaz Sharif’s disqualification in the Iqama case has been decided elsewhere.
He said that similar statements were made by former Home Minister and senior PTI leader Syed Ijaz Shah who was not related to PMLN in any way. He said that Nawaz Sharif was removed from the post of Prime Minister through a conspiracy, but the country and the people suffered the most.
The federal minister said that the solution to Pakistan’s problems lies only with Nawaz Sharif, who has served as prime minister three times. The economy became stable during Nawaz Sharif’s tenure. He gave the people the gift of China Pakistan Economic Corridor, adding that a great injustice was done to the man who served the country as the Prime Minister.
He said that it was Nawaz Sharif who stabilized the country’s economy and completed the IMF program after coming to power in 2013. In 2017, the country was on the path of development and the only IMF program in the country’s history was successfully completed.
Nawaz wanted to make the youth of the country economically independent and wanted to promote the IT, agriculture sectors and increase exports. He said that instead of raising empty slogans, Nawaz Sharif promised to stabilize the country’s economy and fulfilled his promises. From 2013 to 2017, 14,000 MW of electricity was generated in the country and load shedding was eliminated.
He said that after the launch of the biggest anti-terror operation in the country’s history, the scourge of terrorism was eradicated from the country.
On the other hand, he said that a person is standing on the container to stop development projects in the country.
The federal minister said that there is a conspiracy against Nawaz because he is giving employment and business to people, removing darkness from the country. He said that it is strange that the person who plunged the country into several crises is questioning the IMF deal and inflation. Taking a jibe at PTI Chairman Imran Khan, he said that the shadowy figures and characters who are burning the country today stood on the container to block the CPEC project in 2013-14.
The federal minister said that for the past one year, the coalition government under the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is trying to restore the country’s economy, which was destroyed during the four-year rule of PTI.
He further said that the current government is also trying to control unemployment, load shedding and terrorism, which have plagued the country during Imran Khan’s tenure. During the last four years, the incompetent and incompetent rulers of the past have pushed the country towards total destruction. The Information Minister said that the story of Pakistan’s disaster began in 2013 during the Tehreek-e-Insaaf sit-in.
When PMLN came to power in 2013, Pakistan was facing inflation, terrorism, unemployment and was on the verge of default. In the 2013 elections, the voters understood that only Nawaz Sharif can solve the country’s problems and voted him to power.
He said that despite the initiation of Imran’s agitation, Nawaz Sharif laid the foundation of political stability in the country and gave an opportunity to the parties with majority in the provinces to form governments at the provincial level. The federal minister said that CPEC is a gift of the leadership of Pakistan and China to the region and it is the vision of Nawaz Sharif and Chinese President Xi Jinping. He said that the CPEC project contributed to the development of Pakistan in every sector from 2013 to 2018. He said that as soon as the CPEC project started, the elements conspiring against the development of Pakistan became active.
When the news of President Xi Jinping’s visit to Pakistan came, a person on the container stood against the country’s development and the visit had to be postponed. He said that a single person on the container called for a civil disobedience movement. Under the CPEC project, energy projects were to be started, employment opportunities were to be created, but this man tried to create obstacles in the way of the country’s development. Referring to Imran’s criticism of the recent IMF agreement, he said the current government did not sign the programme, adding that it was the PTI government that signed, then violated it. and eventually suspended it for political gain.
Marriyum said that Imran destroyed the country’s economy, foreign policy and unemployment spread due to wrong policies. He further said that those who disqualified Nawaz have been fully exposed before the public. He said that Nawaz, despite knowing that all the corruption charges against him were false, appeared in the courts and proved that he was not involved in any wrongdoing or fraud. When Nawaz was arrested, he said that neither property nor martyrs’ memorial was burnt.
He said that Nawaz Sharif along with his daughter appeared in accountability courts more than 150 times to prove his innocence. He said that the restoration of the IMF program is also a question of Pakistan’s reputation and for this purpose Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar and Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari worked hard.
The Minister said that those who set the country on fire on May 9, and who appeared in the court, were welcomed in the court with words like “good to see you, good luck”. He said that there is a big difference between the performance of the PTI government under the leadership of Imran and the PMLN government led by Nawaz as the Prime Minister and Shehbaz as the Chief Minister of Punjab. “Incompetent, incompetent, foreign-funded people set the country on fire, destroyed the economy and allowed terrorists to re-emerge,” he said.
On the contrary, Nawaz stabilized the economy, GDP growth rate reached 6.1%, ended load shedding, launched CPEC and eradicated terrorism. He said that PMLN had revived the economy in the past and once again the coalition government was taking steps to revive the economy to end unemployment and inflation. The minister said that on July 5, a dictator derailed democracy in Pakistan by toppling the government of Prime Minister Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.
He said that July 5 is also the martyrdom day of Captain Colonel Sher Khan Shaheed. July 5 also marked the 10th anniversary of the launch of CPEC. He said that due to the incompetence of the previous government, many crises including energy shortages arose in the country.
Responding to questions from the media, he said that the government does not believe in targeting its political opponents for political revenge and Imran is facing trials for his crimes. He pointed out that if the government wanted to arrest Imran, it could have done so 14 months ago.
The federal minister said that no one can fool the people for long and the world media has realized that Imran’s narrative is a lie.
