Qaiser Appealed to Speaker National Assembly to Take Notice of PTI MNA’s Misbehavior by Islamabad Police.

ISLAMABAD: PTI leader Asad Qaiser has written a letter to National Assembly Speaker Raja Pervez Ashraf on Sunday urging him to take notice of the police behavior towards party MLA Saleh Muhammad Khan.

On October 21, police detained Saleh and two of his security guards from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police on terrorism charges for allegedly firing at a police force outside the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP). .

The incident took place when PTI activists and leaders protested outside the ECP office in Islamabad following the commission’s verdict in the Tosha Khana reference – which disqualified PTI Chairman Imran Khan. .

Charges of attempted murder, violation of Section 144 and defamation were also filed against Saleh, who hails from Mansehra.

Saleh was arrested after PML-N leader Mohsin Shanwaz alleged that his gunmen had opened fire to fatally injure him.

In a letter written to the Speaker National Assembly, Qaiser said that Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah should be summoned by the Privileges Committee of the National Assembly while the Inspector General Islamabad and other officials should be suspended.

He said that the capital city police violated the rules and regulations on October 21. Qaiser further said that the police had released a white-slate photo of his MNA in an insulting manner with details written around his neck.

The letter said that the MNA, his family and the party had suffered due to this misbehaviour. In his letter to the Speaker of the National Assembly, he wrote that “as the Leader of the House, it is important for you to take notice of this police action.”

He urged the Speaker to investigate Saleh’s arrest and the abusive behavior of the police. The letter said that the Speaker should take strict action against those responsible.

The letter also said that the constitution guarantees full protection of life and property, honor and dignity of citizens.
