ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah on Friday advised the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to disqualify PTI chief Imran Khan instead of encouraging its workers to resort to violence. File an appeal against the decision of the CP.
Addressing a press conference here, the minister said that attempts to create chaos and law and order were not acceptable.
He warned against creating difficulties for people to protest against a “merit-based decision”. He also advised all law enforcement agencies and civil administration of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to stand with the state.
“I will ask the Inspector General of Police and Chief Secretaries of Punjab and KP and regional and district police officers of both provinces to address the public’s difficulties (after the road closures due to PTI protests). “
He further said that PTI workers are trying to block roads in Punjab at the instigation of the provincial government and the situation would have been different if there was a PML-N government there. He asked the parliamentarians and all organizations of PML-N to come out on the streets peacefully in their respective areas and express solidarity with the commission.
In response to a question, the minister said that a case will be registered against Mr. Khan under the Pakistan Penal Code.
The minister claimed that Khan had a habit of instilling hatred among children during his visits to universities. Can such a person adjust himself in parliamentary politics, can he become a political leader? he questioned, further accusing the former prime minister of pursuing a foreign and anti-state agenda.
Describing Imran Khan as a dishonest and certified thief, he said that the PTI chief had sold expensive gifts received from foreign dignitaries, causing the country to face embarrassment in front of foreign heads of state.
