Versatile actress Ratna Pathak Shah, who is also the wife of talented actor Naseeruddin Shah, talks about the changing dynamics of the film industry.

In a recent interview, she said: “It’s definitely getting easier for women my age to get work. I don’t believe in the kind of work that’s designed around being an actor. I It doesn’t sound very interesting, frankly, because when you focus on the actor instead of the story, you’re limited by the personality of the actor. I don’t get the chance to challenge myself. It’s all ages and genders. It’s a great time for actors, not just to do binary work.
“Suddenly, the world is interested in how you live your life. I like that shuffling. Are we going to continue like that? We’ll see. God knows. I hope so, too. But we’re going in that direction. I’ve moved on and there’s no going back. Now he won’t be sleeping in a film with the formula of the century again. Thank goodness.”
