Dr. Bushra Iqbal, ex-wife of renowned TV personality and religious scholar Aamir Liaquat Hussain, remembered the deceased on his first death anniversary on Friday.
Taking to Twitter, Bushra expressed her feelings, saying that the pain is still as fresh as it was on June 9, 2022 – the day Hussain died.
The grieving ex-wife wrote, “The punishment for those responsible for his pain and suffering continues and will continue until Aamir gets justice.

Talking about how Hussain suffered from depression due to what was happening in his life before his death, Bushra requested everyone to pray for the departed soul.
“May Allah reward him manifold for all his good deeds,” he prayed.

Hussain died on 9 June 2022 at the age of 50. He was buried at Abdullah Shah Ghazi Cemetery in Karachi. The news of his untimely death sent shockwaves across the country.
Aamir Liaquat’s Career
Hussain was born on July 5, 1971 in Karachi to politician Sheikh Liaquat Hussain and columnist Mahmood Sultana.
A young Hussain began his career as a televangelist when he joined Geo Television in 2001, hosting the religious program Alam Online. He left Geo TV in 2010 and hosted Ramadan transmissions and game shows on other private broadcasters.
In 2002, he contested his first election on a Muttahida Qaumi Movement ticket from NA-249 parliamentary constituency in Karachi.
After winning, he was inducted as Minister of State for Religious Affairs in the then Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz’s cabinet. Hussain served as Minister of State from 2004 to 2007 until his political party asked him to resign.
In 2018, the television star and politician contested and won re-election for National Assembly Constituency NA-245 in Karachi. But this time, Hussain was contesting on the platform of Imran Khan’s PTI.
He parted ways with the PTI in April this year, while Khan was facing a no-confidence vote by opposition parties.
Hussain had three marriages.
