Believers across the country will celebrate Shab-e-Barat, also known as the Night of Blessings and Glories, on Tuesday night (today night) with full religious fervour.
In specially decorated mosques, Muslims will gather in large numbers to offer Nawafl, Shabina and recitation of the Holy Quran to seek the pleasure of Allah Almighty throughout the night.
Almost all the mosques in the city will have special Shabeena prayers but the most prominent ones are Badshahi Masjid, Data Darbar and Masjid Gonbad Khizra etc.
Some traditions refer to Shab-e-Barat as a night of blessings and accountability when Allah makes large-scale decisions about lives, deaths, favors and blessings for the coming year.
Apart from this, decisions of blessing and sustenance are also made for the believers. In order to achieve these great blessings, the believers make special prayers for the prosperity, unity, security and peace of the entire Ummah and above all to avoid the growing economic crisis in the country.
Most of the mosques in the city have been decorated with lightings and buntings and extra security measures have been taken with the deployment of police personnel to protect the worshippers.
The scholars, through their special prayers, called the economic difficulties as a form of His wrath and punishment, collectively repented before Allah and asked for His mercy to avert this punishment from the world.
A large number of believers will gather in the graveyards for the repose of the souls of their loved ones.
