Sindh govt will soon start e-taxi service in Karachi.

Sindh Transport Minister Sharjeel Memon announced on Thursday that the Sindh government has taken steps to introduce electric taxi service for the citizens of Karachi while pink colored taxis will be introduced especially for women passengers, for their safety. And comfort will be ensured.

In the first phase of the project, more than 200 electric taxis will be launched, of which 50 have been designated as pink taxis for women. The move aims to provide convenient and reliable transport options for women in the city.

“A modern, affordable and eco-friendly electric taxi service will be launched in Karachi and extended to other major cities of the province,” he said.

Apart from the electric taxi service, the government has decided to expand the public bus service by adding 500 new buses at a cost of Rs 25 billion.

Orders have been issued to deploy these buses on various routes of Karachi, ensuring better accessibility for the public.

Sharjeel Memon also said that the Sindh government is actively working to get additional 20 buses by June 15, further strengthening the public transport system.

Additionally, in an effort to expand the People’s Bus Service, the government has directed to launch a new route from Hattri to Kisana Mori in Hyderabad.

The trial run of the route will begin within three days, providing a convenient travel option for residents of the area.
