The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Friday ordered both the federal and Sindh governments to form a joint investigation team (JIT) to investigate human trafficking of teenage girls.

This order of the Provincial Supreme Court came after issuing a written decision on the bail plea of the accused in the girl’s alleged kidnapping case.

In the court verdict, it was said that according to the accused Adnan, he did not marry the girl Maskan in the marriage ceremony. Actually he came from Oman to marry another girl named Sonia. They tied the knot in the city court.

In its judgment, the Sindh High Court added that the formation of a JIT is necessary to investigate sexual assault. Therefore, it directed the Home Ministry and the Home Department to form an investigation team to investigate the trafficking of minor girls.

The judgment also said that this case makes it clear that the gangs are operating without fear. It said law enforcement agencies did not take action against such groups.

It is further stated that the abductee in this case escaped from the clutches of the kidnappers and reached home. She further said that there were 10 to 15 other girls in the place where she was kept after the abduction.

The court granted bail to the accused Adnan for one lakh rupees. Seek reports from the JIT and the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on the next hearing.
