The investigation team investigating the target killing of Khalid Raza, a well-known academic and former member of Al-Badr, has indicated the involvement of foreign hands in the incident.
The investigation team has prepared a preliminary report according to which the accused apparently spied on the victim.
The investigation also revealed that the shooter was well-trained as he shot in the head and did not take the victim’s belongings, including cash and mobile phone, with him.
The 30 bore bullet used to attack Khalid Raza has never been used before.
Investigators are also probing foreign involvement in the killing and suspect that the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) official Imtiaz Alam in Rawalpindi last week was part of a larger pattern.
To widen the scope of the investigation, the team was trying to get the closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage of the route used by the slain academician.
Further, a case of brutal murder has not been registered yet, officials said.
He further said that the family of the deceased will proceed with him after the burial.
On the other hand, the family members of the deceased say that Khalid Raza’s funeral prayer will be offered in Gulistan-e-Jauhar area after noon prayer.
