On this occasion, Local Government Minister Syed Nasir Hussain said that this initiative is in line with Bilawal Bhutto’s vision.
He further said that all measures will be taken to serve the public at their doorstep.
The city which was once known as the city of Nawabs and elites is now submerged due to garbage heaps and indifference of the concerned institutions.
About 2 million people in the city generate about 1,080 tonnes of waste per day which will now be treated by the SSWMB.
Additionally, the board will also be responsible for the cleanliness of the roads and streets of the city.
