Jaranwala: Caretaker Prime Minister Anwar Haq Kakar said on Monday that there will be no compromise on the protection of minorities, the state will always stand with the oppressed and not with the oppressors.

The Caretaker Prime Minister said that a society can thrive only under the rule of law and can be stable on the basis of one principle, the sense of justice among the people, which ensured the survival of the society and the state. He thanked the incoming Chief Justice of Pakistan, Caretaker Chief Minister and military leadership for supporting the victims and reiterated that there will be no compromise on the rights of minorities.

The Prime Minister said that no one can predict the future, but if any miscreants or groups with nefarious intentions against minorities, including Sikhs, Hindus or others, find the government’s authority shielded by the affected sections. will against any harm to them.

Recalling the contribution of the Christian community to society, Kakar recalled his early education, which was imparted by Christian teachers. The caretaker Prime Minister assured the victims that they will fight the enemies of humanity with unity as no society can survive without justice. He further said that the first target of enemies is justice system and any society can survive only with justice.

The Prime Minister also distributed checks of Rs 2 million to the members of the Christian community whose houses were destroyed by mob violence. Also, Caretaker Home Minister Sarfraz Bugti said on Monday that lawlessness will not be tolerated. He wrote in his tweet that he along with his fellow federal ministers stand by the side of Prime Minister Anwarul Haq Kakar in collective support of the Christian community. “We will not condone any act of lawlessness,” the minister said, adding that he was firmly committed to the protection and rights of minorities.

Meanwhile, lawyers staged a complete strike here on Monday against the arrests of innocent people, including children and the elderly, in connection with the Jaranwala tragedy.

A meeting of lawyers was held under the chairmanship of Bar President Khizr Hayat Khokhar. The desecration of Holy Quran in the city was unanimously condemned in the meeting. It was said in the meeting that the destruction of houses and churches is the result of the negligence of the police and the administration.
