Karthik Aaryan has joined the Herapheri franchise and fans just can’t stop comparing him to Akshay Kumar’s famous act. Sunil Shetty highlighted this in his recent interview with JEE News.
Paresh Rawal confirmed Karthik’s presence through a tweet where a fan asked if Karthik would be a part of the third installment. Later, Akshay further confirmed by announcing that he would not be a part of the film due to ‘creative differences’.
Shetty spoke about Karthik’s association with the film, “Karthik Aryan is a brilliant choice, (but) he is not playing Raju. Kartik is a completely new character and he will bring amazing energy to the role. What they will pay.” he said.
He took issue with Akshay not being a part of the film by saying, “No one can replace Raju. Now, it’s up to Raju and Ferozebhai to sort out the ‘manipulation’.”
The first film of the trilogy was released in 2000 directed by Priya Darshan. Its sequel was released in 2006 again in Herapheri directed by Neeraj Vora (late).
Shetty added, ‘I think a hit film is one whose characters are remembered, like Raju, Shyam, Babu Bhiya. The simplicity of ‘Manipulation’ worked with fans. I didn’t know that the film would become such a cult (classic). But I knew it would be appreciated.
He also said, ‘Clean comedy will always work like magic and appeal to people from young children to old people. You won’t feel like you want to fast forward and see it.
