Adelaide: Pakistan will face New Zealand in the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup 2022 after India defeated Zimbabwe by 71 runs in their final T20 World Cup 2022 Super 12 match at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on Sunday.
Pakistan will face last year’s runners-up team at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Wednesday, November 9.
Earlier on Sunday, the Green Shirts needed to beat Bangladesh after the Netherlands surprisingly defeated South Africa. The Men in Green beat Bangladesh by five wickets at the Adelaide Oval to book their place in the last four of the event.
Meanwhile, India will take on England in the second semi-final of the mega event at the Adelaide Oval on Thursday, November 10.

The Men in Blue put up a mammoth total of 186 on the scoreboard before dismissing Zimbabwe for 115 in 17.2 overs.
The African side’s batting line-up collapsed in pursuit of the target. However, Sikandar Raza and Ryan Brill put up a good innings.
Raza, who has been sensational in this year’s event, scored 34 runs in 24 balls before Hardik Pandya was dismissed, while Brill was bowled by R Ashwin after scoring 35 runs.
Wesley Madhvere and Regis Chakabava were sent back without scoring.
For India, Ashwin took three wickets and Pandya and Mohammad Shami took two wickets each. Meanwhile, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Aksar Patel and Arsdeep Singh took one wicket each.

Earlier, number one T20I batsman Surya Kumar Yadav led India to a respectable score of 186-5 with another impressive performance, this time with an unbeaten 61 off 25 balls.
In the 12th over of the innings, when India were 87/2, he strolled in to bat and immediately started scoring runs. While other middle-order batsmen struggled to get going, Yadav hit six fours and four sixes during his brilliant effort.
KL Rahul also played a brilliant innings for India, scoring 51 off 35 balls.
After South Africa’s defeat by the Netherlands earlier in the day, India have already qualified for the semi-finals. However, they still want to win this game to top Group 2 and secure a matchup with England in the semi-finals.
