Directors Joe and Anthony Russo, best known for their work on the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), have responded to Quentin Tarantino’s critical comments about the franchise.

Anthony Russo speculated that Tarantino might feel like a hired hand rather than someone born to make a Marvel movie. Joe Russo emphasizes that what gives him the most fulfillment is creating a sense of community around his work.

Oscar-winning director Tarantino expressed his opposition to the “marvelization of Hollywood” and criticized the ecosystem of studio stars created by the franchise.

He recognized that franchise characters like Captain America or Thor are the true stars, and this trend has been widely debated. Tarantino made it clear that he neither loves nor hates the MCU films.

He said that if these films had been released in his younger age, he would have enjoyed them along with other films. However, as he approaches the age of 60, he is not so enthusiastic about them. His main complaint with the franchise is that it dominates the current film landscape, leaving little room for other types of films to flourish.
