Thailand threatens to ‘shut down Facebook’ over alleged scams affecting more than 200,000

Thailand’s government plans to ask a court to shut down Meta’s Facebook in Southeast Asia’s second-largest economy if it is found guilty of scams affecting more than 200,000 people, the country’s digital minister said on Monday. Fails to process.

Scams on Facebook include luring users to invest in fake companies, fake government entities like the Securities and Exchange Commission, and trading in digital currencies, the ministry said.
