‘The Kerala Story’ has issued high alert in Indian state of ‘Tamil Nadu’.

The Indian state of Tamil Nadu has been on high alert ahead of the release of the upcoming controversial film The Kerala Story.

A government official said on condition of anonymity: “Some groups have given a call for protests. Our intelligence wing has taken note of their messages on social media.

“Some Islamic groups have also approached the police in a few districts for a ban. But the government is not banning it. Even Kerala has not banned it. However, we have all law enforcement agencies. has issued an alert to remain on high alert”, the official added.

“Intelligence officers have not given us any such recommendation and the government has not taken any decision on it,” the official added.

After the release of the trailer of the film, the Muslim Ulama Organization approached the court to ban the release of the controversial film.

According to the complainants, the film demeans the entire Muslim community and its release may threaten the community’s livelihood. The petitioners also claim that the characters depicted in the film bear no resemblance to any real-life person, living or dead.

On Wednesday, the Supreme Court confirmed that it will not entertain any plea seeking a ban on the release of The Kerala Story, JEE News reported.

Kerala Kahaani is slated to release on May 5.
