According to JEE News, to mitigate complaints of users’ sleep schedule disruptions due to TikTok addiction, the app’s creators are introducing a new feature that aims to ensure that its users Get adequate and uninterrupted sleep for at least seven hours.

One of the most serious complaints against social media platforms is that users find the app so addictive that they spend hours scrolling through it, often losing track of time. This affects their sleep.

The app’s new feature, which is still in testing, is called ‘Sleep Reminders’ and will allow users several options, such as setting bedtime alerts and tracking the hours they sleep. Mute notifications.

According to the company, this new feature is currently being tested with a limited number of users worldwide.

This new feature will be available in Screen Time settings under the name ‘Sleep Reminders’.

The company said that with this feature, users will be able to know when it is their bedtime. For this, users will select a bedtime and the app will send them a reminder when that time approaches.

Along with this, the app will automatically mute the push notifications for seven hours so that the app notifications do not disturb the sleep of the users.

A TikTok spokesperson said, “TikTok is currently working on new ways to improve user wellness and this new tool builds on its existing digital wellness features.”

However, the company has not announced an official date for the release of this feature. Nor has it been confirmed whether it will actually launch the feature officially.

Addiction to TikTok
The app’s addictive nature has been criticized by various quarters and complaints about its negative effects, especially on its young audience, are common in Pakistan as well.

With these concerns in mind, TikTok first introduced a number of features that give users more control over how they use the app.

These include screen time management tools, which were introduced in February 2020, and nighttime notifications for teenage users.

Users aged 13 to 15 will not receive push notifications after 9pm, while users aged 16 to 17 will not receive push notifications after 10pm.
