TikTok, Zindagi Trust team up once again to promote digital safety awareness among youth

ISLAMABAD: Tik Tok and Zindagi Trust have announced an extension of their collaboration aimed at providing digital safety awareness in collaboration with the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication.

The renewed partnership, which is part of TikTok’s global efforts during Safer Internet Month, will affect more than 50,000 users in 100 public schools across all provinces of Pakistan.

Additionally, Pakistan Telecom Foundation has also become a part of this partnership and will provide access to an increasing number of schools for this campaign.

The signing ceremony between TikTok and Zindagi Trust took place in the presence of MoITT, which endorsed the Digital Safety Programme.

During the first phase of this partnership launched last year, more than 20 workshops were conducted in two of Zindagi Trust’s adopted public schools: SMB Fatima Jinnah and Khatun-e-Pakistan, reaching around 1,800 students, teachers and parents. Enjoyed.

The workshops included comprehensive information on how to be digitally safe, including TikTok’s community guidelines and safety policies.

Specific procedures will be provided to combat various online issues such as cyber harassment, bullying, fraud, fake news, etc., as well as responsible reporting and protection procedures.

These toolkits will be disseminated during digital safety workshops held in various schools across Pakistan and will also be available digitally.

The Zindagi Trust team, in partnership with TikTok, will provide further training and consultancy to public schools that wish to launch a safety toolkit to continue awareness and learning beyond the current scope of the project.

Another important component will be building trusting relationships between parents and students to ensure that students have trusted adults in the event of cyber trouble while parents monitor their children online. Have a transparent view of life.

The workshops aim to educate teachers and parents about using safety features on platforms like TikTok to ensure their children stay safe on social media.

For example, they will be guided through TikTok’s Family Pairing features, which allow parents to link their TikTok accounts to their teens and set controls, including screen time management, restricted mode and direct messages. .
