Pakistan will face India in the ongoing Asian Hockey Champions Trophy in Chennai, India on Wednesday.
The Green Shirts must avoid defeat in the match to qualify for the semi-finals. On the other hand, India have already booked their place in the last four.
If Japan fails to beat China in the first match of the day, Pakistan will also qualify for the semi-finals.

Meanwhile, a Korea defeat against Malaysia would also favor Pakistan but qualifying for the semi-finals, in this case, could come down to goal difference especially if Japan beat China.
Pakistan is currently on the fourth position in the points table with five points after four matches.

Pakistan and India have won the Asian Hockey Champions Trophy three times, making them the most successful teams in the event.
Korea won the title in 2021 by defeating Japan on penalties in the final held in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
All six teams will play five matches in a round-robin stage with the top four seeded to qualify for the semi-finals. The last four matches will be played on August 11, with the final the next day.
