Dubai: Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) senior vice-president Maryam Nawaz arrived in Dubai as the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Muslim League-N (PML-N) prepare for another clash in the UAE.
People’s Party Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari and Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari arrived at Dubai’s Al Maktoum Airport by private jet from Karachi on Friday evening.
It is likely that the leaderships of the Muslim League (N) and the People’s Party will consult on who will be the caretaker prime minister after the government dissolves the National Assembly in early August.
Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman will also be consulted for the future political setup.
Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) has expressed anger over the political meetings held in Dubai last month, saying that they were not taken into confidence.
Political observers expect that PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif will meet Maulana Fazal and address Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s concerns.
JUI(F) leaders in Karachi have confirmed to JEE News that Maulana Fazal will visit Dubai next week and after his stay in Dubai will go to London.
On Friday, Pakistan Muslim League-Functional (PML-F) chief Pir Pagara Sibhatullah Rashidi hosted a dinner for Maulana Fazal and his colleagues in Karachi.
During the dinner, the future political alliance and upcoming elections were discussed.
As the political situation in Pakistan unfolds, it will be interesting to see how these consultations and discussions shape the future political setup.
