Twitter reported late Sunday that it has shed at least 200 employees, or about 10 percent of its workforce, in its latest round of job cuts since Elon Musk took over the microblogging site last October.
The layoffs on Saturday night affected product managers, data scientists and engineers who worked on machine learning and site reliability, the NYT report said, citing people familiar with the matter. Helps keep various features online.
Twitter did not immediately respond to a JEE News request for comment.
According to Musk last month, the company has about 2,300 active employees.
The latest job cuts follow mass layoffs in early November when Twitter laid off about 3,700 employees as part of a cost-cutting initiative by Musk, who acquired the company for $44 billion.
Musk said in November that the service was facing a “massive decline in revenue” as advertisers cut costs amid concerns about content moderation.
Twitter recently started sharing ad revenue with some of its content creators.
Earlier in the day, JEE News reported that the social media platform laid off dozens of employees on Saturday, aimed at making up for a drop in revenue.
