UAE President’s visit to Pakistan cancelled, Prime Minister’s Office

ISLAMABAD: United Arab Emirates (UAE) President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s one-day visit to Islamabad has been canceled due to bad weather, the Prime Minister’s Office announced on Monday.

“Today’s visit of President HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan has been postponed due to inclement weather,” the statement said.

The UAE President was scheduled to visit Islamabad today to discuss ways to enhance friendship and cooperation between the Gulf state and Pakistan in various fields.

The President of the United Arab Emirates arrived in Pakistan on a private visit on January 25 and held a bilateral meeting with the Prime Minister after reaching Rahim Yar Khan. He was to visit Islamabad today.

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and members of the federal cabinet will receive the President of the United Arab Emirates today at the Noor Khan Air Base of Pakistan Air Force.

Sheikh Nahyan was to be escorted to the air base by a PAF JF-17 aircraft with a 21-gun salute.

Later, the UAE President was to be given a guard of honor by the Pakistan Army at the Prime Minister’s House, after which he was scheduled to have a one-on-one meeting with Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif.

UAE to invest in Pakistan
Arriving in Pakistan on January 25, Sheikh Nahyan signaled that his government plans to expand its investment footprint in Pakistan – as the country faces a severe influx of foreign inflows to prop up its ailing economy. Required.

After welcoming the UAE leader, Prime Minister Shehbaz took to Twitter to recall his recent visit to the Gulf country and emphasized that the two countries had agreed on various areas between the two leaders during their visit to the UAE. Will work on the agreement reached.

On Twitter, the Prime Minister wrote: “Delighted to welcome my brother His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed on his arrival in Pakistan, his second home. Building on our last meeting, we have strengthened our discussed ways of doing fraternal relations.”
