London: British politicians including Foreign Secretary James Cleverley and London Mayor Sadiq Khan condemned the attack on PTI Chairman Imran Khan and prayed for the speedy recovery of him and others injured in the attack.

Imran Khan came under gunfire while leading his party’s anti-government protest rally in Wazirabad near Gujranwala on Thursday. A party worker was killed in the attack and several leaders including Imran Khan were injured.

Responding in a tweet hours after the attack, UK Foreign Secretary James Cleverley said, “The tragic attack on Imran Khan in Pakistan that left one person dead, my thoughts are with all the victims.”

He further said that there is no place for violence in politics.

Meanwhile, London Mayor Sadiq Khan also expressed his concern for Imran Khan’s well-being and said that my prayers are with Imran Khan and the people of Pakistan in this very sad hour.

The Mayor of London expressed his concern over the assassination attempt on Imran Khan, saying that ‘no political leader should ever face violence or intimidation’.

Expressing shock at the attack on Imran Khan, Wimbledon’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office FCDO Minister Lord (Tareq) Ahmed said, “A thriving democracy is the key to an inclusive and progressive society. Violence has never been There is no answer.”

“Sending my thoughts and prayers to Imran and his family at this time,” he added.

Khalid Mehmood MP, the longest-serving member of the British Parliament of Pakistani origin, also condemned the attack on Imran Khan, saying, “Hear about the ‘assassination attempt’ of Imran Khan.” It was very sad.

He prayed for the speedy recovery of Imran Khan and others injured in the attack. He further said that such attacks have no place in any politics.

Labor Party politician Naz Shah also expressed shock on Twitter: “Shocked and saddened by this shooting, praying for Imran Khan’s speedy recovery.”

“My thoughts and prayers are with all those injured.”

British Minister of State Lord Zach Goldsmith also condemned the sad news of the assassination of Imran Khan. He said that Imran Khan is strong and will soon stand on his feet.

“Those forces in Pakistan who believe that they can strangle democracy in this country through assassination are wrong and will be seen as wrong,” he added.

Imran Khan was injured by a bullet on his leg. However, his condition is stable, according to a doctor who is heading the panel of doctors formed to treat Khan.

A suspect in the attack — apparently a lone attacker — has been arrested. In a video confession, the attacker said that he tried to kill none other than Imran Khan because he was misleading people.

Imran Khan had Information About Attack.
Releasing a video statement after the deadly attack on a party protest rally, Asad Umar and Mian Aslam Iqbal said, “Imran Khan has said that he had prior information that these people were involved in the murderous attack on him. Can be”.

Referring to the PTI chairman, Umar demanded that the three persons namely the prime minister, the federal interior minister and a senior military officer should be removed from their offices.

The PTI leader warned that if these officials were not removed from their posts, the PTI would stage a nationwide protest as the country could no longer continue like this.

Omar said, “Khan is ready to sacrifice his life for the nation. There should be no doubt about that now. He is right, but he says we should always have faith in Allah.”
