Director Nitish Tiwari of Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor’s Baawal revealed that the film’s plot has nothing to do with Hitler.
After the film’s trailer launch, Bawal ran into controversies regarding World War II and Hitler.
To clarify, director Nitish said: “While creating a character, you can go back and look at events and incidents that may play a role in the character’s overall arc and relationships in general.”
“It’s not just about Hitler. There’s a lot more that you haven’t seen in the trailer. Every episode has been carefully chosen to have an impact on the overall arc.
He also explains how and why he chose certain examples from the war and why he had to include Hitler.
“World War II is huge. A lot happened and you can’t take everything.
“You have to pick and choose things that might affect the journey of the characters and that’s why [World War II was taken as a backdrop].”
“Hitler becomes a part of it, and you can’t have him in World War II.”
Baawal starring Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor is produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. As reported by JEE News, the film is slated to air on Amazon Prime on July 21.
