Head coach Kim Mulkey was visibly emotional as she led her Louisiana State University (LSU) Tigers women’s basketball team in only two seasons to the national championship title for the first time defeating Virginia Tech Hokies in semifinals on Friday with 79-72.

Kim Mulkey is always in the media limelight due to her flamboyant and distinguished colorful outfits.
“During my years at Louisiana Tech, I used to dress up a lot, and then when I became the head coach, it was hard for me to sit on the sideline in a dress. So I stopped wearing dresses, but I always did. , always felt like I needed to look good. I needed to be professional”, he noted after advancing to the Final Four.
The LSU Tigers will face the South Carolina-Iowa winner for Sunday’s title.

Standout Alexis Morris led LSU with 27 points while Angel Reese contributed 24 points and 12 rebounds.
Elizabeth Cutley led Virginia Tech with 18 points and 12 rebounds, and Kayana Traylor and Georgia Amor added 17 each.
The Hawkeyes looked tired, but LSU was excited.
