According to the latest data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) on Friday, the SPI for the week under review in the said group was recorded at 204.55 points as against 205.73 points last week.
Compared to the same week last year, the combined consumption group saw an increase of 28.44% in the SPI during the week under review.
Weekly SPI covering 51 essential items for 17 urban centers and all expenditure groups with base year 2015-16 = 100.
The SPI of the lowest consumption group up to Rs 17,732 saw a decline of 0.79 per cent to 210.05 points from last week’s 211.73 points.
Meanwhile, SPI for consumption groups of Rs.17,732-22,888; 22,889-29,517 rupees; 29,518-Rs 44,175 and above Rs 44,175 saw declines of 0.78%, 0.66%, 0.60% and 0.47% respectively.
