WaBetaInfo reported that Meta-owned WhatsApp is working on a new update that will allow users to link an iPad as a companion device.
According to the app tracking website, the new update – dubbed “iPad Support – Linked Device” – is in development and not ready to be released to beta testers.

The new feature will allow users to link their iPad to their WhatsApp account on Android in a future update.
Earlier, the instant messaging app announced that it is allowing users to link an additional iOS device to an existing WhatsApp account. Users can link up to four devices without compromising privacy and security.
In the latest update, WhatsApp is now working on adding compatibility with iPad as a new connected device.

“Since WhatsApp recently released Companion Mode on iOS (and it’s slowly rolling out to some accounts), we can guess that the next step is to sync the app with the iPad. As A connected device can confirm that the app will be released to the public soon,” said a WhatsApp watcher.
