Former Australian cricketer Greg Chappell has predicted the four teams that will qualify for the semi-finals of the International Cricket Council (ICC) Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023, which is scheduled to be held in India later this year.
In a recent chat with JEE News, Australia predicted that Pakistan, India, Australia, and England would qualify for the semi-finals of the tournament.
“In that respect, it’s in India at the moment. I think the four teams to watch for me, obviously India, Australia, England and Pakistan, are probably the four best teams. But then the other Asian teams come into their own because they . in India, but I’ll stick to those four at this stage,” Chappell said.
It should be noted that 10 teams will fight for the title at 10 venues from October 5 to November 19. The opening and final of the tournament will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
The Cricket World Cup will be played in a round-robin format in which all teams will play a total of 45 league matches against each other.
The top four teams will qualify for the semi-finals, which will be held in Mumbai on November 15 and Kolkata on November 16. The semi-finals and finals will have reserve days.
Here is Pakistan’s schedule for ICC World Cup 2023:
- October 6 – vs Holland in Hyderabad
- October 10 – Against Sri Lanka in Hyderabad
- October 14 – India Vs at Ahmedabad
- October 20 – vs Australia at Bengaluru
- October 23 – Afghanistan vs. Chennai
- October 27 – vs South Africa at Chennai
- October 31 – Bangladesh vs Kolkata
- November 4 – New Zealand vs Bengaluru (Match of the Day)
- November 11 – vs England in Kolkata
The day matches will start at 10:00 AM PST while all other matches will be day and night matches starting at 01:30 PM (PST).
If Pakistan qualify for the semi-finals, they will play in Kolkata.
If India qualify for the semi-finals, they will play in Mumbai unless they play against Pakistan, in which case they will play in Kolkata.
