World Cup 2023: Pakistan vs India match likely to be rescheduled

The much-awaited ICC World Cup 2023 between arch-rivals Pakistan and India – scheduled for October 15 in Ahmedabad – may be rescheduled, Indian media reported on Wednesday.

As the most anticipated game of the tournament is on the first day of Navratri, a festival celebrated with massive participation across Gujarat, security agencies have advised the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to change the itinerary. Advised to do.

The match may be held in Ahmedabad on October 14 instead of the original date of October 15.

A top BCCI official, who did not want to be identified, told JEE News that the board is considering options and will make an announcement soon.

“We have been told by security agencies to avoid high-profile games like India vs Pakistan, for which thousands of traveling fans are expected to arrive in Ahmedabad, as they are drawn due to Navratri.”

Meanwhile, BCCI secretary Jay Shah has also written a letter to the associations hosting matches of the mega event to attend the July 27 meeting in New Delhi.

During the meeting, the board may apprise the members of security concerns around Ahmedabad and finalize a new date for the much-anticipated clash.

It should be noted that 10 teams will compete for the World Cup title at 10 venues from October 5 to November 19, with the opening and finals of the tournament being hosted at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Here is Pakistan’s schedule for ICC World Cup 2023:

  • October 6 – vs Holland in Hyderabad
  • October 12 – vs Sri Lanka at Hyderabad
  • October 15 – India Vs at Ahmedabad
  • October 20 – vs Australia at Bengaluru
  • October 23 – Afghanistan vs. Chennai
  • October 27 – vs South Africa at Chennai
  • October 31 – Bangladesh vs Kolkata
  • November 4 – New Zealand vs Bengaluru (Match of the Day)
  • November 12 – vs England in Kolkata

The day matches will start at 10:00 AM PST, while all other matches will be day and night starting at 01:30 PM (PST).
