YouTube is planning to roll out a new feature that will allow select creators to go live with another guest creator on YouTube.
The Creator Inside Channel will only be available to stream using a phone, not a desktop.
While guests can be rotated on the live stream, only one is allowed at a time. In the coming weeks, some creators will be able to use this feature and go live together, with their stream feed appearing above their guests while live.
To start a live stream, creators will be expected to fill out information regarding title, description, monetization settings, thumbnails, and visibility settings. After selecting a creator for the “Invite Co-Streamer” option, guests simply click on the invite link to be sent to the waiting room.
YouTube will allow advertisers to run ads on guest streams, with revenue going only to the host. Moreover, the stream will not appear on the guest’s channel but the platform recognizes that visibility is important for a creator and plans to introduce it in the near future.
TikTok recently introduced a similar live feature on its platform, allowing creators to go live with up to five people. Twitch also released this feature, letting creators go live with multiple fans at once.
