Actor Zeeshan Ayub has extended his support ahead of RRR’s nomination at the Oscars 2023, saying that its nomination at the Academy Awards and winning it will help attract more international audiences to Indian cinema.
Talking about the film, he added: “RRR’s buzz in the West is definitely a good thing. However, personally, I don’t think recognition from the West is that important. Also Samaj Aata Hai which are good movies and which are not.
“But having said that, if RRR gets nominated for an Oscar and wins, it’s going to open a really big door like it did with Korean movies after Parasite. It’s really, for the whole country.” It’s going to be really helpful for the kind of cinema we’re creating.”
He further supports Shonk Sen’s All That Breathes which is also shortlisted for final nominations at the Oscars. Says Zeeshan: “Obviously, RRR is there. But at the same time, I would also talk about films like Shaunk Sen’s documentary All That Breathes. So, I think, the kind of content that India is producing now. , being recognized there.”
He also admitted that he really loves the film that Telugu filmmakers are making. Although, there is a certain section of the society that disagrees with the nominations but believes that people should celebrate such moments instead of starting a controversy, reports JEE News.
