ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan said on Saturday that President Dr. Arif Alvi should respect his constitutional stature.
In a statement, the minister said that Arif Alvi should act as the President of Pakistan, not the spokesperson of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf Chairman Imran Khan. He said that before this, Imran Khan made the president, speaker, deputy speaker and governors do unconstitutional work.
He said that the President has nothing to do with the election date, and he is interfering in the domain of the Election Commission of Pakistan.
The federal minister said that President Alvi was an accomplice in the PTI foreign funding case. Sana expressed regret that Imran Khan is putting pressure on ECP by using the post of President.
On the other hand, Defense Minister Khawaja Asif said that the President should stay within his constitutional limits.
On Twitter, the minister said that the President should not violate the limits of the Election Commission of Pakistan. “He [President Alvi] should not be politicized. He should remember that he was stripped of the constitutional post in 2018 as a result of the election/event.
He also posted a quote from the Supreme Court judgment in his tweet as a “reference and warning”.

Referring to the current situation in Punjab and KP, the President said that he once again wrote to the Chief Election Commissioner for a meeting to announce the dates of elections in both provinces as per the constitutional requirement.
Dr. Alvi said that holding elections within 90 days of dissolution of any assembly is a constitutional requirement, so matters should be decided according to the constitution. He said that the implementation of the constitution is the solution to all the problems and all the stakeholders have to sit together to get the country out of the crisis.
Dr. Alvi said that the economic condition of the country is not so good, but the solution to all these problems lies in the continuity of democracy.
The president said that the IMF is a lending institution and before giving money, it wants to see how we will repay the money, so it imposes discipline so that other lenders and friendly countries also give us money. Give a loan.
He said that solar is the cheapest source of energy in the country.
“We can meet our energy needs by generating abundant electricity through solar technology.” He said that the oil lobby kept us away from Thar coal which wasted 10 to 15 years before we could benefit from it.

Referring to the abundance of food, the President said that we need to work in this regard through Agricultural University Tandujam and other research institutes.
He said that Netherlands is a country 16 times smaller than Pakistan, but it is the second largest food exporter in the world. He also urged the agronomists to go to Faisalabad and Aired University and conduct research on low water consumption crops to achieve the goal of food security.
President Alvi said that the government is bound by duty but the industrialists in the industry sector have to make their own way and all the stakeholders should do their part to achieve the common goals.
He described IT and textiles as potential sectors for increasing the country’s exports and urged industrialists to focus more on these two sectors. He advised the business community to involve more women in trade and business activities as no sector can develop without their active participation.
He said that there is a shortage of human resources all over the world and we should fill this gap by training the youth. IT was the only sector where our women could work from home and through internet they could work not only for the country but also for the industry of the whole world.
He also referred to the Prime Minister’s Youth Development Program launched by the previous government and said it had provided training to 2.4 million youth.
The President said that in India 100 per cent children go to primary school, Bangladesh has 98 per cent and Sri Lanka has 99 per cent while we have only 68 per cent children enrolled in schools which is a matter of concern.
Responding to HCCI’s proposal for a Charter of Economy, the President said that it is very difficult to bring all stakeholders together and for this purpose people should leave their egos behind.
The President said that he tried his best to bring everyone together but no one is willing to do so when the situation in the country is very bad and all opposition needs to be sidelined to save the country from sinking.
Dr. Alvi said that he will continue efforts to bring all stakeholders to the table so that the crisis can be ended through joint efforts. He said that like China, we should also focus on health and education as these two sectors will lead our country on the path of success.
