Dubai: On Sunday, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar said that America cannot stop Pakistan from buying Russian oil and it will be possible soon.
Addressing the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) workers in Dubai, the finance minister said that during his visit to the US last month, he had met the officials of the US State Department regarding the purchase of oil from Russia. was discussed. discussed.
Dar added that US officials were told that they could not stop Islamabad from buying oil from Moscow as the country’s neighbor India was also buying oil from them.
Dar also said the ministry would try to buy oil from Russia on similar terms as it has from India.
“In the next few months, you will see the government taking significant steps in favor of Pakistan in this regard,” the finance minister added.
Dar added that the country has financial dealings with Saudi Arabia, China and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
During the visit of the Prime Minister to Saudi Arabia, meetings were also held with the Saudi officials. From these meetings you will see that there will be further improvement for Pakistan.
Dar also said that Saudi Arabia will set up a refinery in Gwadar, adding that it is an investment of about 11 or 12 billion dollars.
He further said that the project was launched in October 2015 and that he was in Riyadh at that time and had meetings with top Saudi officials.
The finance minister further said that this refinery could not be established due to the political crisis and change of government in Pakistan, now it has been decided to establish the refinery again.
