ISLAMABAD: An 8-year-old Afghan girl was raped in broad daylight by a man who managed to escape in the presence of residents of Mohalla Daptian under Shahzad Town police station.
The minor victim was transported to the hospital where a medico-legal official confirmed the abuse.
Shahzad Town Police has registered a case under section 376 and 377/B of the Pakistan Penal Code against the unknown rapist on the complaint of the victim’s father, but till the time of writing this report, the rapist could not be traced.
Hazar Gul, an Afghan citizen from Jalalabad, filed a complaint in Shahzad Town that he had been staying with his family in Mohalla Dapitian near Maryam Masjid for a few months.
“I was at my house with my elder brother when we heard some noises from the street, we came out and saw a young man running towards us, consequently, without knowing the reason for his running, we both tried. Stopped him but he managed to break free from our clutches and escaped from our custody,” the complainant said while narrating his story.
However, he said that we moved towards the place where street people were gathered and saw my minor daughter crying.
On questioning, the minor victim told her the story of the brutal attack on her, and said that she was playing near her house when the rapists dragged her to an under-construction house and forcibly raped her.
Police sources said that the DPO (Rural) has taken up the case and asked Shahzad Town police to take the case as a challenge and use all their efforts to arrest the rapist. brought
The SP has formed teams and sent them to various locations to track down the rapist.
Sources added that the police have nabbed a few suspects for questioning, and claimed that police teams would reach the culprit and chase him in the next 24 hours.
