Rawalpindi: Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir is currently in China on a four-day official visit, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a brief statement.
“The COAS is on a four-day official visit to China to enhance bilateral military ties,” the army’s media wing said without giving further details.
This is General Munir’s fourth visit abroad after assuming the command of Pakistan Army. In January, General Munir paid an official visit to Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in his first foreign visit as Army Chief.
During his time in Saudi Arabia, the COAS met Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and “reviewed bilateral relations and ways to enhance them.”
Later, General Munir visited the UAE and met President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and discussed defense and military relations.
During the meeting, the two also discussed ways to strengthen military affairs to meet the common interests of the friendly countries, according to the state news agency.
A month later, General Munir visited the UK on a high-profile visit to discuss strategic security issues at the invitation of the UK Ministry of Defence.
After the UK visit, General Munir again visited the UAE and met the President.
