Barcelona moved eight points clear at the top of La Liga as a clinical second-half performance helped them to a routine victory over Sevilla.
After a dismal first half, the hosts took the lead through Jordi Alba’s side-footed finish in the 58th minute.
Gavi doubled the lead after 71 minutes by tapping home Rafinha’s cross before the Brazilian winger headed home Alba’s cross.
The defeat left Sevilla in 16th place, just two points clear of the relegation zone.
The bad news for Barcelona was that captain Sergio Busquets went off with an ankle injury after just four minutes.
Barca host Manchester United in the first leg of their Europa League play-off tie on 16 February.
Earlier on Saturday, title rivals Real Madrid missed a chance to at least temporarily cut Barcelona’s lead to two points, losing 1-0 to Mallorca.
