Former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said that Pakistan is currently facing difficulties and challenges, which is mainly due to the actions of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan, who in his opinion, during his rule, the country have been damaged. .

On Tuesday, Abbasi of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) said that the current government is continuing the economic crisis created by Imran Khan. . He asserted that the government has paid a political price and will have to pay more.

He said that Pakistan is in dire need of stability at this time, suggesting that if Khan believes that this is a viable solution to the problems. He said that in any case the problems faced by the country are not going to end soon and the elected government will need to deal with them in the upcoming general elections.

Abbasi mocked the PTI leader and said that he cannot stay in the opposition even for a day.

Abbasi said that if Khan wants to take to the streets against the appointment of Mohsin Naqvi as caretaker Punjab Chief Minister, he is free to do so. He said that he [Imran] is not protesting against the suffering the people are going through.

It is worth mentioning here that Naqvi was appointed by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) after there was no consensus between Chief Minister Punjab Pervez Elahi and Opposition Leader Hamza Shehbaz.

Naqvi was sworn in hours after the ECP’s verdict on January 22.

Referring to the dismissal of the PML-N supremo as prime minister, Abbasi appeared emotional, claiming that only one person’s name has been removed in Pakistan’s history, namely Nawaz Sharif. However, he emphasized that the people of Pakistan have the right to decide who should be marked as such.

He said that Pakistan has no other option except the International Monetary Fund (IMF). He further said that the country needs urgent decisions but Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and his Finance Minister are aware of the ground situation.
