COAS Bajwa Calls for Regional Peace, Warns ‘Cost of Status Quo Will Be Catastrophic for All’

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Saturday stressed the need for regional peace and the need to develop a mechanism to resolve all bilateral issues peacefully, as he warned that “the cost of the status quo will be catastrophic for us all.”

He asserted that the people of South Asia deserve prosperity and better living conditions like the rest of the world.

“This can only happen with sustainable economic growth, development and above all lasting peace. Therefore, we must try hard to keep the flames of war away from the region,” he stressed.

During his speech, General Bajwa urged the passing out cadets not to be “disturbed by fake news and political strife” in the country.
