Combat capability: Ex-army chief’s statement taken out of context, ISPR

RAWALPINDI/ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Army on Friday said that the views of former Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa were taken out of context during an off-the-record conversation with media representatives on the army’s preparations.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement that there had recently been discussions in the media about the combat capability of the Pakistan Army given the state of certain weapon systems in its inventory. “To this end, the former army chief’s views on the future threat to Pakistan, which he shared with media persons in an off-the-record interactive session, were taken out of context,” the ISPR said. have been copied.”

Meanwhile, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Senior Vice President Dr Shireen Mazari on Friday said that General (retd) Qamar Javed Bajwa’s comment on conventional military hardware was a serious breach of security.
