ISLAMABAD: The unexpected emergence of the Fawad Chaudhry group on Wednesday has created a state of disarray within the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party after the horrific events of May 9. .

The post-May 9 situation for the PTI is highly uncertain, with concerns about how to handle the legal fallout for Imran Khan, even among party leaders who have yet to abandon him. Those who are still loyal to Imran Khan are aware of his significant voter base.

According to a PTI leader interviewed by JEE News, if Imran Khan is disqualified, PTI Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi is expected to take over the leadership of the party. Pervez Khattak is also being seen as a possible option. However, the future decisions of Qureshi and Khattak are uncertain, as they are politically astute and have the acceptance of influential powers.

Many eyebrows were raised within the PTI following the unexpected move by Fawad Chaudhry on Wednesday, who had earlier said that he was taking a break from politics after leaving the PTI barely six days ago. Kushi, along with two other PTI colleagues, Imran Ismail and Mehmood Maulvi.

He met Shah Mehmood Qureshi in Adiala Jail. Addressing a press conference after meeting the detained Vice Chairman of PTI, Fawad said that 25 crore people cannot be left at the mercy of Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM). He said that in the absence of an active opposition, the present government cannot be given an open field.

He made these remarks amid rumors of the formation of a new political party in the country, mostly made up of PTI defectors. Fawad said that apart from meeting Qureshi, he also spoke to Parvez Khattak, Asad Qaiser, Asad Umar, Farrukh Habib, Ali Zaidi, Hammad Azhar and others.

This is unusual despite statements by Qureshi’s son and Asad Qaiser trying to distance himself from Fawad Chaudhry’s move. What is brewing between them is not clear today but everyone knows that both Shah and Khattak have the ability to surprise.

Background conversations with PTI leaders, most of whom are in hiding to avoid arrest, show that there is considerable confusion and uncertainty within the PTI. This situation is forcing many within the PTI to rethink their political options for the future. They want Imran Khan’s votes but don’t know how the minus Imran Khan formula will come out and what will be the impact on their politics.
