Earthquake in Turkey and Syria: MNAs to donate one month’s salary

ISLAMABAD: Members of the National Assembly have decided to donate their one month salary to the earthquake victims of Turkey and Syria.

Speaking on the point of order during the joint session of Parliament on Tuesday, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MNA Rana Muhammad Qasim Noon donated one month’s salary of all the members to Speaker National Assembly Raja Pervez Ashraf. Suggested. The members of the lower house of parliament expressed their condolences to the earthquake victims in the two brotherly countries.

Supporting Qasim Noon’s suggestion, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) MNA Chaudhry Mehmood Bashir Wark said that the people affected by the earthquake are facing a difficult time, so the legislators should consider this trial and tribulation. Must help them in the clock.

MNA Ramesh Kumar Vankwani says, “We should go beyond one month’s salaries and provide more financial assistance to the victims.”

He further said that all the members of this honorable house are well and they can help this noble cause by donating lakhs of rupees in their personal capacity.

Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Raja Riaz Ahmed said that this is a positive step as the Treasury and Opposition benches have mutually agreed to donate one month’s salary to the earthquake victims.

Meanwhile, Jamaat-e-Islami MNA Abdul Akbar Chitrali expressed his concerns, saying that he would prefer to donate his salary to Al-Khidmat Foundation, which is already doing charity work in Turkey and Syria.

Speaker Raja Pervaiz Ashraf said that apart from Abdul Akbar Chitrali, the House has agreed to donate one month’s salary to the earthquake victims of Turkey and Syria.
