Senior Vice President of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Fawad Chaudhry has announced to file contempt of court petition against Information and Broadcasting Minister Maryam Aurangzeb.

Chaudhry’s announcement was made after Aurangzeb’s comments regarding the election delay case pending before the Supreme Court under Article 184(3) of the Constitution. In his remarks, the information minister had questioned the validity of the circular issued by the Supreme Court registrar and called it a “one-man decision”.

In the circular, the Supreme Court said it would continue to hear the case after Justice Jamal Khan Mandukhel recused himself from the proceedings – the second retreat after Justice Aminuddin Khan, who had quit the bench hearing the case moments earlier. was given Citing the order of a three-judge bench headed by Justice Qazi Faiz Isa, it took action on March 30.

Fawad also criticized Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) supremo Nawaz Sharif for threatening Pakistan’s judiciary and questioning the legitimacy of the upcoming three-member bench’s verdict.

“Nawaz Sharif is threatening and threatening the judiciary of Pakistan,” the PTI leader said while briefing the media after the party’s core committee meeting on Friday.

He criticized Nawaz Sharif who questioned the validity and legitimacy of the [upcoming] decision of the three-member bench.

Sharif, while addressing a press conference in London on Friday, pointed out that two judges of the bench had earlier ruled against him. He had questioned how the judgment pronounced by this bench could be accepted when the bench itself was unacceptable to him.

Reacting to Nawaz Sharif’s rejection of the decision of the three judges of the Supreme Court, Fawad asked the PML-N leader to also reject the decision of the three judges of the Supreme Court which became the basis of the Shahbaz Sharif government.

Fawad Chaudhry said that his party supports and believes in dialogue with other political parties. However, he maintained that it takes two to clap. He further said that if there are any serious negotiations, we will move forward.

On March 28, PTI chief Imran Khan – going against his traditional stance against sitting with political parties in the current government – said that he would not hold any kind of All-Party Conference (ACP) to “uphold the Constitution”. PC) are ready to attend.

Fawad further said that if we want to fix the situation in Pakistan, we have to think beyond oppression. He also noted that his party has no objection to Nawaz Sharif’s return to Pakistan.

He said that the aim of the recent amendment is to reduce the powers of the Chief Justice of Pakistan. The PTI leader was referring to the Supreme Court (Practice and Procedure) Bill, 2023, which was passed by the Senate on March 30 to limit the discretionary powers of the Chief Justice of Pakistan to take suo motu notice.

The PTI leader said that the powers of the caretaker governments will expire at the end of April 30.
